On Friday, July 7 following dinner service, Linda Roylston will make a special Quilts of Valor presentation to two Veterans.

A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war.  The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”

Linda makes custom quilts that reflect each Veteran’s service and their interests, making sure to choose soft, cozy fabrics. Each quilt has the Veteran’s name sewn into it, their rank and branch of the military.

She made a quilt for Puyallup Elks Lodge member Ron Blood, who served in the Army in the Vietnam era.

“I love it,” he said. “It is so unique – I was blown away.”

Linda said she is working on more quilts, and anyone can go to the Quilts of Valor website and request one for a Service Member or Veteran.

Please make plans to join us and support our Veterans. Make reservations by noon on Thursday by calling the office at 253-845-9515 or by using the form.
