It has been almost 30 days since we had our pipes burst from the freezing weather and a lot has happened. Because the damage was so extensive, we will be having a lot of positive outcomes – a refreshed, renewed lodge! Of course, we will be scheduling repairs and renovations so that our new roof is completed first to protect our Lodge, then do the interior repairs.

Recent Progress
  • All damaged furniture and it has been disposed of. Say goodbye to those old, torn and worn chairs.

  • The water pipe above the laundry room has s been repaired and an additional pipe back in the dry storage area was found leaking and it has been repaired, we should have potable water soon!

  • Remediation is set to start on Monday February 12th. They will be removing all tiles and carpet throughout the lodge with the exception of the office and coat room. There will be some drywall removal in the front office and coat room where the drywall got water soaked.

The anticipated time for remediation is between two and three weeks, so the Lodge remains closed for safety reasons.

The Tacoma Elks have graciously said we can use their lodge on Tuesday night to hold our meetings. So, for at least the next three weeks we will hold our meetings at Tacoma on Tuesday starting at 7:30 . The lodge address is 2013 S Cedar St, Tacoma, 252-272-1117. I hope everyone can join us there . It is a beautiful lodge with a great restaurant. Come before our meeting, eat and meet your fellow Elks.
